In Discovery this week some children had a go at making plastic bag balls, an idea inspired by Paul who came and gave a very interesting talk about growing up in a Kenyan village. He explained that children in the villages couldn't just go to a shop and buy a new ball, they had to be creative and make their own with whatever suitable materials they could find- plastic bags, old clothes, string.
Paul, if you are reading this, I hope you are impressed by our efforts.....it wasn't as easy as you made it look but what a great lesson on perseverance!
We also had dress ups, fan making, dragon art. Our photographers each week try to catch moments where they see children demonstrating our current life skill focus, so see if you can spot students relating well to each other!
We are a year 1/2 class at Hope School in Nelson New Zealand. Our blog is mainly used to help us link to other areas to support our learning. We now share what we are doing in class on Seesaw with our families.

Mazes
In maths we have been learning about mazes. Last week we planned a maze on paper and this week we went outside and created our mazes with chalk. It was quite tricky having to transfer what we had on our plan onto the tennis court.
It was really fun (and sometimes tricky) navigating our way through other class member's mazes.
