Last TDC Library visit of 2015

We had our last library visit last Friday. The lovely ladies at the library had set up a scavenger hunt for us. We had to match pictures up to the library areas they were in.
After the scavenger hunt we selected our books. Lucy showed us some new books to choose from.
At the end of the session Lucy talked to us about the 'Dare to Read' Summer programme. To enrol children need to get on the TDC website and click on the link and fill out the enrolment form TDC Library 'Dare to Read' Link . There are some great tasks for kids to do and the programme helps encourage reading over the summer period.

Maths Outside

On Tuesday we played a maths game outside. We had to throw beanbags into a target area and then add up our scores. We were practicing counting on from the highest numbers. It was a lot of fun. Some children got up into the 90s.

Captain Cashtastic Visits

Captain Cashtastic visited us last Thursday. We identified the different notes and coins we have in NZ and then we learnt about needs and wants. Our needs are FOOD, WATER and SHELTER and wants are things like iPads, bikes and sports gear. By the end of the session we were all super heroes!!!
